New - Algarve Lifestyle Video And DVD for 2010

Starting this April we will begin the shooting on a one and a half hour video covering the whole of the Algarve in which we will be promoting 16 major cities and towns throughout this little part of paradise, with in-depth information on it's history, towns and villages, places of interest, things to do and much, much more.

Speaking recently to the Algarve Resident, Gerard McGuirk (Marketing) was asked "Why are you making this video?" He replied, "This is a fantastic time to be making this type of video production, at other times the costs may have been prohibitive but with the economic situation we are able to produce this at a fraction of the cost."

"Our aim is to speak to the ATA and local authorities, so as to both promote the Algarve and the Camara's. This video will help to promote their towns, history, lifestyle and businesses in their towns."

The video will be shown in a large number of hotels across the Algarve as well as in Lisbon, Porto and Madeira and will accompanied by an inter-active DVD to promote towns and businesses and will be distributed to over 500.000 families in the first year.

Gerard continued "We will be speaking to a number of businesses within each town and give them the opportunity to be able to feature their business, we will create a minimum 30 second commercial which can be featured on the DVD with their opening hours and contact details. This will work when a town is clicked and then one of the features of business is chosen, then the DVD owner can click on that business."

This concept is being used in other countries cities through "Hotel TV", the difference with this is that it covers a regeion and for the first time comes with an inter-active DVD.

"The DVD's distribution is key to making this a success, so each business along with the Tourism Board and Camara's will have a DVD tailored made to suit them. The DVD will be embossed with their logos and contact details with links direct from the DVD when played on a PC. People then can take the DVD home and show family and friends where they have been and what they have been doing, thus promoting the Algarve and what it has to offer. Businesses will be able to give DVD's to tourists as a momento of their visit and promote their shop, restaurant or business for many years to come." He continued "The DVD will also come in multi-European languages so as to be as user-friendly as possible."
